About us:

Adams Picture Library (APL) is a general interest photo Library based in Cornwall. The huge archive of photography has gradually grown in size and content since its beginnings over 30 years ago by the talented photographer John Adams. APL now boasts a diverse collection of photographs by over 500 photographers, encompassing a wide range of subject matter such as Art and Fashion, Wildlife, Travel, Landscapes, Children, Entertainment, Transport and Conceptual. An original string to our bow is the great selection of Retro/Kitsch fashion images we have dating back over several decades, definitely worth a look.

Over 21,000 images are now available for you to search on-line on APL's user friendly database system. A further 300,000 images are stored in transparency format in APL’s offices. Images by new and existing photographers are being added to the site daily. So hopefully one day you will be able to search the entire collection on-line! At present, APL offers a free search service of the in-house collection. If you cannot find what you are looking for on-line, please contact a member of the APL search team, who will deal with your request immediately.

APL was taken over by new management five years ago and is now a family-run business. With its small closely-nit team, APL is proud of its friendly and helpful approach to selling images. APL employees are always willing to assist you in every way possible with all your image requests.

As well as supplying images everyday to newspapers, magazines, publishing houses and web design companies, APL also offers a range of services:

1. A commissioning Service - with photograpers available for both pack shots and custom assignments. Click here for details.

2. Prints for sale - photographic prints and cards that are available for you to buy on-line. These are sold on a separate website by APL's sister company, Face Front. To browse the collection of photographic prints and cards for sale click here.

APL is continually updating its website and its services. If you have any comments at all then please let us know, Thanks! And happy searching…
