Prospective photographers
We are proud to represent work by a diverse range of photographers at APL. Over the next few years we intend to continue expanding our varied collection of world-class photography and to market it to a growing list of clients.

If you have had a look through the images on-line and believe you’ve got what it takes to become an APL photographer, then we want to hear from you!

Please carry on reading to find out more about becoming a photographer with APL. Click on the links “contract options for APL” and “sample contracts to view” to find out more about the contract options available to you. Then dowload the APL submission guidelines to find out about putting forward an initial selection of images for consideration. [back to top]

Contract options for APL
APL offers two contract options to its photographers. You can either be represented as:

1. An exclusive photographer. This means that APL will be your only outlet for the sale of images. Exclusive photographers receive 50% of net profits of their images sold. Or:

2. A non-exclusive photographer, meaning that you are free to sell your works elsewhere, whilst being represented by APL. Non-exclusive photographers receive 40% of the net profits of their images sold.

Before providing an initial submission of images for APL’s consideration, please look over the “sample contracts to view” and decide whether you would like to be represented as an exclusive or a non-exclusive photographer. [back to top]

A fee will be negotiated via the standard Rights Managed system for any images required above this size or if the client requests it. [back to top]

APL photography marketing
APL provides free marketing for all its photographers. Once you are being represented by APL, we will try in everyway possible to make sure that your images get sold! This may include having a small feature on your work on the website, having your images printed on APL flyers which are sent out to prospective clients and sometimes passing your images on to third parties for their assistance in selling the works. We want to ensure that your images receive the widest exposure possible, so that the maximum number of images are sold. We want to get your name and your pictures out there for all to see! Image ideas...
If you are stuck for inspiration on what to photograph, then please consult the Wish List on the right hand side of this page. This list is constructed according to specific requests APL has recently received, and areas that are currently lacking in the collection. If you follow this list it will increase the chances of you making sales because these are subjects that are particularly in demand at the moment! The wish list is updated monthly, so it is a good idea to check it periodically.

APL has recently started sending a bi-monthly email bulletin to all of its photographers. This service is intended to keep you informed of any APL news and image subjects recently requested. If you are currently being represented by APL but have not been receiving this bulletin it is probably because we do not have an email address for you! Please contact us with your email address and we will add you to the mailing list. [back to top]
